Does eating sugar cause diabetes ?
No, no such evidence matches. However, for those who have diabetes, the reason they are banned from eating too much sugar is different. How much sugar do diabetics eat per day? According to the guidelines of the American Diabetes Association, diabetics can eat up to five teaspoons of sugar a day. However, the same amount of sugar should be excluded from the carbohydrate diet throughout the day. Sugar should be mixed with other foods. Not separately. Adequate amount of soluble fiber (30-35 grams per day) in the diet prevents sugar from mixing with the blood. So blood sugar cannot rise fast. Remember, if you eat more than a certain amount of sugar, it is converted into fat in the liver. It leads to various physical problems including fatty liver and diabetes. For those who do not have diabetes, eating extra sugar does not raise blood sugar, but it does convert it into fat (triglycerides) in the liver. In developed countries, each person's daily carbohydrate intake never exceeds 50 percent of the total calories in the diet. We need to keep in mind that 1 gram of carbohydrate contains 4 calories. So if we divide the number of calories we take in half by dividing the number by 4, we can calculate how many grams of carbohydrates we can eat. Suppose a person needs 2000 calories a day. Half of it, that is, 1 thousand calories should be divided into four parts. Thus it is estimated that a person can eat 250 grams of carbohydrates. Fruit sugar is the cause of diabetes? Yes. Fruits contain fructose. Many say that the more fruit you eat in a day, the better. This information is incorrect. If you have diabetes, you can eat up to 100 grams of fresh fruit throughout the day. If you eat more than that, the fructose in the fruit, like normal sugar, goes into the liver and turns into fat. Why is it forbidden to eat sugar for diabetes? For diabetics, sugar can be dangerous at any time. The reason is simple sugars or common sugars. As a result, sugar dissolves quickly in the blood. As a result, the amount of glucose in the blood starts to rise within five to ten minutes. Thus, when sugar levels rise, it is not always possible to manage it with insulin or medication. If this happens repeatedly, it will have a detrimental effect on the health of the diabetic patient. If you have sugar, can you eat sugar free instead of sugar? Many diabetics eat saccharin or sugar-free instead of sugar. These are called artificial sweeteners. We forbid diabetics and those who come to us for weight loss to eat these. Diabetics should keep in mind that one gram of sugar-free sugar contains only 0.4 calories (one gram of sugar contains 20 calories of sugar). So why are we forbidding? The problem is elsewhere. We have a place in our brain called the hypothalamus. Important factors like heart rate, blood pressure, how much to eat, our sleep cycle, etc. are regulated by the hypothalamus. This hypothalamus has a mechanism called glucose stat. When the hypothalamus realizes that the ‘quota’ of glucose has been met, it sends a signal to the stomach. Under the influence of which the desire to eat goes away. The hypothalamus does not get glucose when it eats artificial sweeteners. As a result, there is no sign of 'satisfaction' in the stomach. So the person tries to be satisfied by eating sugary foods at other times of the day. This leads to weight gain. There are many patients who eat sugar-free to control their weight and sugar and then open the fridge at night and eat sweets. And is often caught in the hands of the people of the house. So the man of the house is being told, if anyone wants to eat a little sweet, do not forbid him. There is no objection to playing rasgolla with rasa chipa at the ceremony house. But, you have to burn those extra calories by walking or doing physical work. Then neither weight nor sugar will increase.
Tell us something about the diet of diabetics ?
We showed in a study published in the British Medical Journal five years ago how many diabetic patients in any part of India eat carbohydrates. In any state of India, the daily curvature has been found to be above 64%. As mentioned earlier, in developed countries it is a maximum of 45 to 50 percent. Let me give you an example. If you go to a restaurant in a European country, you will be asked, do you eat fish or meat? But when we go to a restaurant here, you ask, don't you eat rice or bread? This is where the primary difference in food comes from. We put rice or bread in the middle and decorate the dish with other foods. In Europe, a little rice and lots of vegetables are served with fish or meat. So naturally their diet is much healthier. Now continental food has been introduced in our country. This level is also seen in food.

Do you just have to eat food ?
No need to exercise ?
As long as people lived in the forest, these diseases did not exist. Now food and medicine are increasing. But, calories are not being consumed accordingly. About 2,000 years ago, forest dwellers did not have enough food. But I had to do a lot of physical exercise to get food. So they were quite free from weight gain problems and consequently blood sugar. But now the situation is completely opposite. That is, food is being brought home four times a day using only smartphones without physical exertion. Is it any wonder that this lifestyle change will lead to diseases such as diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, and heart problems? So the slogan of staying healthy is 'eat less, work more'. This balance is important. My point is, don't make your stomach a dustbin. The housewives eat the food as soon as it survives. They forget that it is possible to give extra food to poor people or animals. Otherwise it should be thrown in the dustbin. It is not right to throw your stomach into it thinking it is a dustbin. Following these rules will help you get rid of obesity and diabetes.
